  1. Love the new site! Great job Jonas!!!!

  2. Nice job on the site. I’m reading The Specter right now, whilst having my own fits of writer’s block…

    • I look forward to hearing from you when you’re finished The Specter. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Writer’s Block? What’s happening? Where are you stuck? But the real questions are: Is this your usual genre? Do you normally write this kind of scene/chapter/novel?

Email me if you want – we’ll talk.

  3. Looking forward to the next chapter of Sarah Roberts life Smilie: :)

  7. The Mafia is listed as a trilogy. Does that mean there is another Darwin story coming soon as well? Not sure who I like more, Sarah or Darwin. Great work as always.

    • Hi Kim,

Yes, there is one more story for Darwin. It’s called “The Scythe” and is due out in late February. Then “The Enigma”, Sarah Roberts Book Six will follow that in March 2013.

      Thanks for reading!

  10. Hey Jonas,
I’ve been looking to read Suicide Notes from you, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, and it’s not listed up above there under your short story collections. Is it completely unavailable these days?

    • Hi Mike,

Suicide Notes was taken down, re-edited and some of the stories were re-published in my short story collection, Visitations. The short story, Suicide Notes is unavailable at this time, but will resurface one day – just not sure when.

      Hope that helps,

Patiently waiting for the release of The Enigma. I wish I could pre-order it on Amazon! Since it’s been pushed back to an April release, which is just around the corner Smilie: :-), do you have a tentative date yet?

    • Hi Amy,

Tentatively, we’re looking at April 18-22 area. Earlier if possible. So, three to four weeks left. I’m so excited with this one. The most intense project yet for me.

    • Tim,

    Alma Aukland says:

After book 10 in the Sarah Roberts series will there be more?

    • Hello Alma,

Yes, there will be a lot more. Book Eleven is called, The Redeemed. Book Twelve is The Haunted and Book Thirteen is The Unlucky. All of those books are being released in 2014, too! I have plans to keep the series going as long as people keep enjoying it.

      Thanks for asking!

    Tracey pope says:

Love the way characters from other books sneak in and even Jonas! Love it!

  15. Love your work. All of it. Keep writing!

    Laurie Gonzalez says:

I’m on book four The Hostage and looked ahead to book five. I’m not sure if I should continue the series or not. If it’s only one book after another about this ultra powerful government guy doing whatever he wants then I’m done. Please tell me what book to skip ahead to where Sarah gets back to doing what she is supposed to be doing: helping others. I do like the way you write but enough already! Point me to something else besides the Big Bad Government! Thank you.

    • Thanks for writing. Actually, in Book Five, The Victim, she escapes their clutches, meets her future boyfriend, Aaron, and has to deal with a ultra-religious group called The Rapturites. The Government guys leave the book within the first few chapters.

      Happy reading!!

    • Sarah helps people in all of her books, sometimes it’s worth the government and sometimes it’s not. They all are worth reading, just to see what’s going to happen next! Love Sarah for bringing her guard down and helping the government, you know that’s not easy for her to do. See it from Sarah’s view.

  16. I just finished book 16 in the Sarah Roberts series “Losing Sarah”. As always it was an amazing book! I’m wondering when “The Pact” will be released? I have become a huge fan of yours since I stumbled upon the very first Sarah Roberts book. I also enjoy the About the Author at the end of each book, it makes me feel like I know you as a person . Keep Sarah coming back and I’ll keep reading.

    • Hi Melissa!

The Pact is due in June. Not much longer now. Thanks for reading the series – so happy you enjoyed them!

    Madhava Menon says:

Have just been reading the Sarah Roberts books. You have explained the locations, and why you chose them. Most of the escapades that Sarah goes through are plausible. However, I just wondered. Why are the villain so full of hate and extreme sadistic violence. Any background to this?

      jonassaul says:

      Hello Madhava,

The background is mostly through research and fictional license.

      1. Research: I’ve often noticed – not in all cases – that gangs and several serial killers are driven by hatred and rage which is a very powerful motivator.
      2. Fictional license: I choose to use the extreme sadistic side of a villain as I feel it makes the story more compelling to be battling something so outrageous and dangerous that the odds often venture to the side of the bad guy before the tables turn. When I’m reading a novel, if the murderer or bomber or general bad guy is doing it to raise money or is compelled to do it for a righteous reason, I don’t find that interesting in the least. I like extremely bad villains, hence the need for me to do my best to create these heathens.

Thanks for asking and I hope you enjoy the Sarah series as you read on,

      Sending my best,

    Madhava Menon says:

    Hi Jonas,

    What you say is true.

However, I am concerned about this whole justification built around a “troubled childhood” that is sought to be given by most authors and society too, for violent behaviour. No doubt, some sort of revenge feeling could well be a natural corroboration of a man becoming violent. In general a woman reacts less violently, in my opinion, but in Sarah you seem to have a different model?

I do like the way you have already built almost 13 books and counting and have been able to logically link them together. That takes some doing, sir. And superlative latent in writing and imagination. Hats off to you!!!

      jonassaul says:

      Hi Madhava,

The troubled childhood scenario is really just a go-to justification. Some people had a wonderful childhood and grow up to be anger-filled wife abusers. Who knows where it all comes from, really? In the end, some people are born without the ability to feel emotions like love. Affects up to 4% of society.

Overall, it’s just fiction and I write in a way that tries to make sense while the reader must suspend disbelief. In the end, it’s all for fun and the kind of entertainment a thriller can offer.

Thanks for your compliment and I’m happy you’ve enjoyed the series. Book 17 comes out next month!

      Warmest Regards,

    Madhava Menon says:

Oops, sorry, that should read “talent” not “latent”
